After learning to appreciate the intricacies of animation with stop motion last week, we’ve shifted to digital animation.
I designed a basic 2D character in Sketch and animated it in After Effects.
Designing 2D character in Sketch
I decided to make my first character very simple to cut down on the number of required secondary animations. For example, I’ve omitted limbs and feet to eliminate having any complex walking animations.
Animating in After Effects
My scene in After Effects consisted of a couple layers of nested composition with a 3D camera for zoom and pan.
